A similar option: give the ‘Unknown Spouse’ any name (something not
confused with your real names that you’ll easily know). Then, delete that
person.

Try this: Give a bogus name to unknown spouse. I use 'made-up spouse.' Then
right click bogus spouse and choose delete person. Or use any method you
want to delete bogus person.
