I should have also stated, said Joao da Costa Duque also goes by name Joao da Costa Furtado; There are no more records for this line in Ponta Garca that I know of, but perhaps the baptisms of Vila Franca may turn up something. There is a marriage in Vila Franca, Matriz, that may be the parents

This is a tough one, I see the date 22 Feb 1718, Jose da Costa son of Manual da Costa ……… and his wife Maria da Costa both deceased baptized NS Graca (Piedade) to Theresa de Medeiros daughter of Manuel Carvalho and Catherina de Jesus both deceased. I would like to see what others see. Rick

I am working on finding ancestors for my cousins family tree as my Xmas gift to them. I think I've got almost as far back as i can with these names. I've gotten better at reading these documents, but am having a hard time reading this one to determine if I have the right names and place to
