Hi Romona,
I don't know much about Cardoza's. My great grandmother was Caroline
Cardoza Machado and her father was Manuel Cardoza. My understanding is
there is still Cardoza's in Half Moon Bay that maybe related to these
Cardoza's.

I created that find a grave memorial and have since gotten pictures. I also
got the church records from 1880 showing the Cardoza family, I have to say
that there are a ton of resources out there, but the people on here and
everyone else that has helped me makes this an enjoyable hobby to have!

Hi Eddie, iam also on the search for Cardoza's. My GrGrandmother was a
Correia and married Joseph Cardoza, they lived in Sausalito. I don't have
much info and don't have any relatives left to ask. I have found census
records with they in it,
Eddie. I am not a hundred percent sure... but I did a look up in San Mateo
County for someone about a year or two ago at the library in the City of
San Mateo. Half Moon Bay is located in San Mateo County, CA. It is on the
Coast of the County. San Mateo County is the County on the San Francisco

The 1880 census for San Mateo County, Township 4 (near Half Moon Bay) shows
a Manuel Cardoze married to Catherine with a bunch of children (that's a
highly technical genealogical term). I was looking at this because I
remembered a certain enumerator didn't just write Azores or Western
Islands he

Seeing “Picho” reminds me of some of the 1880 Census records on the East Coast
that wrote “Pekoe”, like the tea!! Rosemarie

That is where I stumbled across them. I just got off the phone with them
and they are going to check the vault for the church records to see if
there is any further in.

It worked. I had found that record via Familysearch.org, but of course
without the actual image. I wasn't sure about the spelling because it was
listed as Cardoze. Caroline is the name of my great grandmother. That is
why I was looking for what newspaper possibly would have an obituary for
Eddie,

Hey everyone,
I was hoping that someone here would know where I can find old
newspapers/obits from Half Moon Bay, CA from 1881. I think I stumbled upon
my 2x Great Grandmother's record and need to confirm it. My 2x great
grandfather was Manuel Cardoza 1838-1923 (I am hoping I have the right

Eddie--I believe there are still members of the Cardoza family there.
Their original name was Cardoso.
Perhaps they are related.
Not sure about newspapers. Check out the San Mateo County Genealogical
