check there if you have not already. The web site requires a password, but
it's a free service. I checked for Joseph Vincent around your time period,

the 1920 U.S. Census.
Your husband's ancestor most likely came over as Jose. I don't know the
Portuguese spelling for Vincent...maybe Vincente?
Hi, I found a Rosa Viera born in Somerset in Nov. (no day,) 1894. She is
the daughter of Antone Viera and Mary Viera. He is born in the Western Isles
and she in Somerset. He is a farmer.
I also found a William Viera born in Dighton, although his parents are
living in Somerset and the birth
