I did find obitos for her parents. Her mother died 6 months before she
married and her father two years before.

Virginia died 21 Dec? 1966 (?) That's my best guess. Maybe they recorded it on
Virginia's baptism too?

so, i think the bride would need the father's legal permission if she was under
25, but then again, i'm not sure if that applies to that time period

I didn't read the body. It kinda looks like that, yet Virginia has parents
that are named (maybe they died and that's not mentioned?). They also got a
dispensation to marry, so they are cousins. A native speaker will have to
tell us what that "orphan that is legally authorized to marry by a judge
For what it's worth, I completely concur with Cheri.
The body of the record has something I've never seen. Does it say that she
is a 17-year-old orphan that is legally authorized to marry by a judge at
city hall?

I believe the side note says that Manoel Soares de Freitas died on 22 of April
of current year (1960) and the second side note says that his wife, Virginia
