Eric, I'm answering you in both places!
try looking at the baptisms right before her (Antonia's) marriage.
Sometimes the baptism isn't found by the Priest (forgot to enter it in the
book!) and the woman getting married has to be rebaptised right before her
marriage. This happened in my
Great suggestion! However in this case, Antónia de São José was the mother
of Manoel Jozé da Cunha (13 Feb 1843) - pai incognito ... :(
Thanks for the advice!

I would agree, Eric. Although she could have married some other man! She
still would have been listed as Manuel's Mother with unknown Father on his
married record.

Good Luck, Eric! Are you positive she didn't get married to the father
somewhere down-the-line? Did you find her death record saying she was
single??

I don't have her death record - that's also in the "hunting for" pile ...

Hi Eric:
Sorry for the blank responses--have had too much caffeine this morning.
Antonia was born 9 August 1812 before her parents were married. Her
baptism record confirms the names of her mother and maternal grandparents.
See top right
Thank you again.
Does anyone else have my 6x great grandparents in their family tree? Bernarda
de Oliveira AND Francisco Barbosa?
I am trying to go back on Bernarda de Oliveira direct maternal line, which
is also my direct maternal line and I am stuck, stuck, stuck. I would love
to go back as
Marie, this is great news!! I wish I could read the doc word-for-word but
it will need to be someone that reads the language well.

I have them.
I do not have Bernarda de Oliveira's baptism. I only have her father as
Manuel da Sousa and mother as Maria de Oliveira who died before 5 Jun 1710.
No source on that. Ugh!!
I have Bernanda's marriage and death. That's it.

For options, such as changing to List, Digest,
I think it's legitimizing her, but we'll wait for a better translation.
The margin note of the "legitimization" is referring to the baptism that
took place before where the father was named as "pai incognito."

Hi All, I am looking for the village where these people might have hung out.
The names are Manuel Arruda Moniz, son of Francisco Moniz and Maria Correia.
He married Catarina Benevides in about 1900. They have a child in 1904 in USA
as a matter of fact all the children are born in USA, but I

JR, Wow, do you have Kryptonite in your eyes? LOL I thought we ran out of

It is a good record but there are words unfamiliar to me. It seems that
Francisco was killed by military forces supporting Dona Maria II to restore
her to the throne of Portugal but I'm not sure.
Carrie,
If he does not have a stone, and he is not listed on FindAGrave, you can
call the cemetery and they will most likely give you the information you
are seeking. My brother and sister did not have a stone in the Catholic
cemetery they are buried in and that office gave me the information
this is great!
hm, why do we have Simao Goncalves married to two different women? is
it the same man? or just happens to be a different man with the same name?

Not yet, Cheri :)
I just have them in my files as I descend from Miguel de Noia and Úrsula
Roiz.
Unfortunately they are the end of the line and here's what I have so far
about them:
. São Pedro de Vila Franca, 26.5.1658 - EC #168, casamento de Manuel Roiz,
filho de Miguel da Noia e Úrsula
Joe Matias,
Who is Duarte Manuel Vasconcellos d'Amaral? Did you get his permission
before sharing his work?

Hi Jemendonca642,
This is what I could translate/understand:
1 - On Aug, 2nd, 1831 left .
2- the present life, Francisco Munis, 43 years old,
3- more or less, married to Maria Joaquina de Mello,
4- parishioners of Our Lady of Rosario de Lugar
5- from Achadinha, without receiving the last rites
I'll get in touch with João Ventura - he helped me earlier this year with
some translations ... I'll post the translations once I get them. Thanks
everyone for your help!!
