and *Sebastiana da Costa. * In the marriage record of their son António it
says that Tomé and Sebastiana were from Arrifes:

Riverdale area. She is Velma Leal Goularte. The Leals have a long history in
the Riverdale area. My maternal grand parents were from Pico (Madalena a nd
Candalaria).

My aunt Mary (Machado) Bezera grew up in Laton and after they sold their Dairy
Farm they moved to Riverdale and she still lives there today. I know most of
the relatives lived in Lajes on Pico. Mary Machado's father was Francisco Jose
Machado. Riverdale and Laton are not that far

Did you just see 16 year old Katie Stevens and her Portuguese grandmother
on American Idol? Brought tears to my eyes. And she can sing too and she
made it through!!! And her grandma taught her how to speak Portuguese -
lucky girl.
