I am researching my mother's paternal line (Madruga) from Freguesia of
Lajes do Pico on the island of Pico. My question is, since I was not
brought up Roman Catholic, would there be any microfilm record
anywhere on the reading or posting of the banns? The church was

In my experience on the Island of Sao Jorge, the priests wrote the posting
of the banns in the margin of the woman's baptismal record. This is during
the 1800's and later. I haven't seen it in the earlier records. I don't
know if there was any special book where anymore info was recorded.
