Dear Rick,
Thank you, thank you. Yes, the record is difficult to read, but I've been
poring over it. Looks to me as if Amalia's parents were naturals of Nossa
Senhora da Estrella in Ribeira Grande. I'm so happy to have her
grandparents names, which I had not known. I get the following:
Hi Nancy,
See my comments below also did you check the charts I sent? They take both
lines back further.
I have found the birth of Jacinto and am still working on the record it is
also hard to read.

Dear Listers,
I have extractions of the marriages for Portu Judeu, Terceira 1672--1873
which was done by Kathy Usuna several years ago. Kathy gave me a copy with
the stipulation that I would make it available to any Portuguese
researchers. I will be happy to search for your people if you give me
Dear Listers,
When the Angra Passports were online I copied them from Aug 8, 1836 thru
Dec 3 1839 ONLY. I had been trying to copy only one page and the printer
just kept spitting out the pages! I decided to keep the copies and I will
be happy to search for your person(s) if you can give me some

Dear Rick,
Thanks for the comments. I don't know why I didn't see Dias. It's so
obvious now.
I did not receive any charts. How were they sent? Possibly an email
message never got through to me. I checked my spam folder, but nothing
there.
Anyway, I really look forward to seeing them.
Eliseu,
The list is rather short. But, here goes:
From Graciosa
1. Andre Rodrigues Miranda (son of Antonio Miranda and Maria Reyes,
deceased) married Theresa Garcia
(daughter of Gaspar Garcia Sarmento and Maria Pereira.) She was
born in Candelaria, Pico, and

Not sure if you can help me I am just a beginner my great great grandparents
are reported to have come from Lagoa Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel. Antonio da
Costa about 1835 and his wife Maria Rosa Isabel about 1839 had a son Jose da
Costa 15 Jun 1870 and three girl all listed as Maria
Hi Ed,
I started a new thread so it can be followed easier.
It sounds like the information you need is the marriage of your
great-grandparents Antonio da Costa and Maria Rosa Isabel. If your
information is correct about Lagoa then you need to search the marriage
records in that location.
Don't ask me how but I ended up with Dias as my maiden name from de Souza.

Just a reminder that the sale ends on Saturday, Dec. 31st at 11:59 pm CST.
But I'm disappearing after 7 pm CST and won't be by a computer. Please
order before then, as I won't be able to help you and I'm not sure what
Rick is up to on New Year's Eve.

Ed,
I have a Large file on Lagoa. Do you know which parish? Rosario or St. Cruz?
Lagoa is not in Ponta Delgada. Did Jose marry there? Do you have any other
info? There are MANY Antonio da Costa from Lagoa.
