Elaine I would not get too excited about this match. The two step match
means that two of the 37 do not match so this is more of an anthropological
match. In other words the common ancestor could be more than 24 generations
back. The more step difference the further back you go.

Yes, the year is 1800.

I just need to verify that the I'm reading the date correct November 16,

But 23 out of 25 is starting to fall apart. And if you are haplogroup R1b,
then you only want to pay attention to your 37 and 67 marker matches.

Yes. Father to son.
2) The lack of importance the Azoreans gave to surnames is one way the

They were a little too comma crazy back then. I don't know what modern
Portuguese is like in these records today, but if I wrote something with
that many commas in English, I'd have a lot of red marks on my paper and

Thank you Margaret and Cheri!
Cheri, I agree; way too many commas and I was sure it was all about her

after her husband's name.
Again, Thank you!

I am on a PC, using Firefox, and I'm accessing it from California. I just
accessed baptisms in S.Miguel, Terceira, and Flores. No problems, no
errors. So it's not the CCA site. Try clearing the cache, cookies, and
whatever else. Try a different browser (Firefox is working for me). The
