Cameron,
You need to do more than reference the trees on Ancestry or My Heritage or
Family Search or CITCEM or, or, or. I've seen some pretty glaring mistakes
(not only Portuguese, but even American research). So be sure to pull the
records from the CCA.

Most of Shirley's work was done B.C. (Before Computers) when we viewed the
records on microfilm. Her husband is Gary and Shirley is not on Ancestry.
She may need a couple of days to check email, but she'll get back to you.

I descend from Antonio’s elder brother, Francisco Garcia da Rosa (b 1823). I’d 
have to check my number of children for Prudenciana, but I’m probably missing a 
couple. I need to cross-reference another tree that has more entries.

Is your husband John0202 on ancestry? His tree is the one I’ve referenced a 
couple times so far.

I don't know what you mean by the date. The records are written in day
month year. Since that's the genealogy standard, we should follow that :)

Manuel was born 1 pm on 5 July 1872 (misspelled). Son of Silvestre de
Mendonça Machado and Anna da Incarnação. Married in this freguesia.
Paternal grands: Manuel Mendonça Machado and Francisca Rosa (looks like
Piga)
Maternal grands: João Lourenço do Adro and Margarida da Incarnação.

Check the Flores/Corvo marriage book has the marriage for the other
marriages.

Pedro.

So the groom is from Hawaii, as Lanai is one of the Hawaiian Islands. The

marriage that her mother Maria da Conceição is from São Roque (Rosto de 
Cão).  Candida's Rabo de Peixe baptismal record that says her mother is

The part of the sentence that contains Sao Roque says "of the freguesia of
Sao Roque in the place of Rosto do Cao."

The words "Sao Roque" appear above the words "Ponta Degada." The dot for
Sao Roque is a little east of Ponta Delgada.

Grandparents are listed but typically, they don't state where the

That's great. Be sure to join those kits you mentioned to the Azores DNA
Project. You want to have a wide net for all possibilities.

Here are the join instructions:

Log into the FTDNA page with the kit number and password.

Across the top is says: myFTDNA, DNA Tests, ProjectsPoint at Projects.
When the drop down menu appears, click "Join a project."

If the Azores Islands appears on the top, click the link and scroll down to
the JOIN button at the end.

If the Azores Islands is not suggested, scroll down to where it says
"Search by Surname" and type: azores.

When Azores Islands appears, click the link and follow the directions.

 Emigration records for São Miguel island don't start until 1875. Older
 records are lost. :(

 If Brasilian sources are not revealing a freguesia on S. Miguel for
 you, then your only choices are:

 1) Do as you have already done - make a post. If no one has them,
 repost a couple of times a year, hoping someone will recognize them.
 2) DNA test. S. Miguel is the largest island and it doesn't have a lot
 of clusters yet. But sometimes I am able to tell it's from the western part
 of the island, or the Vila Franca area, for example. You would want to test
 with Family Tree DNA and you want the Family Finder test.
