Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Baptisms in Santo Antonio pre-1815
Thanks for the clarification. It looks like I have the same info as Shirley as I looked up the cca records myself. And don’t worry about me relying on other trees, Cheri - I’ve been going through cca records for everything, it’s just slow-going. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Azores Genealogy" group. Cameron, You need to do more than reference the trees on Ancestry or My Heritage or Family Search or CITCEM or, or, or. I've seen some pretty glaring mistakes (not only Portuguese, but even American research). So be sure to pull the records from the CCA. Most of Shirley's work was done B.C. (Before Computers) when we viewed the records on microfilm. Her husband is Gary and Shirley is not on Ancestry. She may need a couple of days to check email, but she'll get back to you. Or you can email her directly at shirldg at digitalpath.net Cheri Cheri Mello Listowner, Azores-Gen Researching: São Miguel island: Vila Franca, Ponta Garca, Ribeira Quente, Ribeira das Tainhas, Achada On Thu, Feb 15, 2018 at 9:48 PM, Cameron Hazerwrote: > I descend from Antonio’s elder brother, Francisco Garcia da Rosa (b 1823). > I’d have to check my number of children for Prudenciana, but I’m probably > missing a couple. Which one of Prudenciana's children do you descend from? My husband descends from Antonio Garcia da Rosa. I have ten kids for Prudenciana. How many do you have? Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Baptisms in Santo Antonio pre-1815
Prudencia Narcisa is my husband's ancestor. She is his 3rd great-grandmother. She was born about 1785 in Santo Antonio, Pico, Azores. Do you have her DOMarriage as 13 July 1811, in Feteira, Faial, Azores? Shirlely in CA - Original Message - From: Cameron Hazer To: Azores Genealogy Sent: Monday, February 12, 2018 7:51 PM Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Baptisms in Santo Antonio pre-1815 So, I've hit a bit of a snag. An ancestor of mine, Prudenciana Narcisa (do Coração de Jesus), was born - according to her obit, marriage, and children's baptisms to be from Santo Antonio. The problem is, her obit lists her age as 80 in her obit in 1865, and the baptisms in Santo Antonio on the Centro/Tombo sites don't go back before 1815. Is this an issue of records being lost, or was Santo Antonio part of a different parish at the time? Or is it something else I didn't think of? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Azores Genealogy" group. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Baptisms in Santo Antonio pre-1815
Cameron, Santo Antonio from which island? There are lots of Santo Antonios. Yeah it could be part of a different parish, but without an island reference, it will be hard to answer your question.
