I was able to get information on my paternal grandfather's line there.
He was from Feteira, his name: Francisco Silveira Pedro.

I experienced the same problem some time ago so I emailed them. They
replied that Castelo Branco database was down and didn't know when it
would be available again. They offered no explanation for its removal.
Perhaps you can get newer info from them. Good Luck!

great grandmother's name is Maria Inacia Martins, she was born on Faial
either Feteira or Horta about 1435-1840. She married a Jose Pereira
Pinheiro, date unknown. They had at least 2 children that I know of. Maria

I recently spent a day in Sao Miguel on a cruise. I speak very little
Portuguese, but growing up the Portuguese that I did learn was from my Sao
Miguel relatives. I hired a tour guide, recommended by George Pacheco, and
had a fabulous time. The point is: while practicing my Portuguese language

not once but twice. His daughter Margarida is my 3rd great
grandmother. I guess that makes Robert my 4th cousin! Cheri wished for

Love that photo. I remember my grandfather sitting on the front porch in
Santa Clara playing his viola. He brought his viola with him when he came
here from Ponta Garca, Sao Miguel in 1899.
