There is also a Book of Chaves from Santa Maria which I purchased a few years
ago with someone’s help obtaining and shipping to me. Not expensive.
I gave it to my nephew’s wife who’s is from the Chaves family and who was born
on Santa Maria.

He's probably talking about the Rodrigo Rodrigues books. The Family History
Library has volume 1 only. It a 5 or 6 volume set and no longer in print :(

It does NOT cover 100% of the families of Sao Miguel and Santa Maria
islands. However, if you work you lines back far enough, you will tie into
something in the book.

Now, being a book, done by a human, there will still be errors. So you can
copy what's there, but you should go and verify as much as you can with the
records.

Shiri, thank you for watching my video and voting. I really appreciate that.

Unfortunately I do not have information on Jews in those areas. But there are a
series of books on the genealogies of Terceira island. Those might be helpful
to you. They’re in the family history Library.

Thanks, Al
