It’s just an attempt to ram it through. There’s no guarantee that the current Government will be the one in power by the time it comes into force, and “scrutiny” doesn’t necessarily mean “proper parliamentary debate”. Up until now I was under the impression that he was broadly in favour of doing *something* but that he took issue with the way certain amendments were almost overreaching their mandate (if such a thing is possible). I'm now worried he might not be considering how damaging sections of the Bill could potentially be to artists and bands who don't have the advantage of prior exposure.
