I just wrote a perl script (attached) to do this. I'm testing it, but it
appears to operate as expected so far. I encourage feedback (please send it
to me directly rather than spamming the list).
I'll add this to the wiki after I've used it for a few more days (and fixed
any bugs anyone else f
Also, I forgot to mention earlier, that I had to chmod 755 /. and /.. - the
wrong permissions here were causing failures to a couple of services, such as
mysql. This is really weird how much of manual process restoration is...

Yes, this is a bare metal restore. I have found that, specifically, the perms
and ownership are wrong only for files directly under my partitions; all the
other subfiles and subdirectories look fine. In my case I have the / partition
on /dev/hda1 and the /var partit

CentOS5.1 redhat distrib.
The probleme is that the adminuser receive the mail when error backups for any
