Re: [BackupPC-users] Centos 6.3 install
Thanks Les. That will give me the latest version of backuppc correct? Also all the configs and such should be in the default places like /etc/backuppc and /usr/share/backuppc right? I do mount my pool to /var/lib/backuppc so I am good there. I tried just following the readme in the tarball but backuppc won't start. Our old server is ubuntu 10.04 so that is no help either. Add the EPEL repository to your yum config if you haven't already and: yum install backuppc It will save some trouble if you mount the archive partition you want to use at /var/lib/BackupPC before the install. Then follow the instructions in /etc/httpd/conf.d/BackupPC.conf to add your web password. -- Les Mikesell lesmikes...@gmail.com -- Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond. Re: [BackupPC-users] Centos 6.3 install
I have installed backuppc on my centos 6.2 with LVM and 4 hd (neraly 7 TB) and works great. This is what I did. 1. Install the EPEL (Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux) repository. 2. Disable the system-config-firewall and selinux (may be there is a better way to do this, but it works for me) 3. Then just: 4. # yum install perl-File-RsyncP.i686 5. #yum install perl-Net-FTP-AutoReconnect.noarch 6. #yum install perl-Net-FTP-RetrHandle.noarch 7. #yum install BackupPC.i686 8. Finally configure apache's user and backuppc. You should know how to do that. Is the same for every backuppc plataforms On Thu, Aug 9, 2012 at 6:50 PM, Kameleon kameleo...@gmail.com wrote: I am trying to find the best way to install backuppc on my centos 6.3 box.
