Re: [BackupPC-users] Got fatal error during xfer (No files dumped for share E)

2018-08-21 Thread jose marquez
Something interesting happened, I believe the 2nd attempt was successful, but
another full backup was automatically started and erased the old one that ended
with a different error:

2018-08-21 00:20:58 Aborting backup up after signal INT
2018-08-21 00:21:00 Got fatal error during xfer (Unexpected end of tar archive)
2018-08-21 00:21:02 Saved partial dump 0

I may have actually set this up incorrectly or something. I'm very new to Linux.

I'll figure this out tomorrow. I need sleep.

I am using BackupPC 3.3.1 and Version 4.3.11 of smb (I used "smbstatus
--version" to get that verison)

I have also realized that this isn't the latest version which is interesting.
If that's the reason why the backup failed then I'm not the smartest one when
it comes to checking things before asking for help...

[BackupPC-users] Got fatal error during xfer (No files dumped for share E)

2018-08-20 Thread jose marquez
Hello, I recently was given a Dell Precision T1500 and decided to finally make
a backup server. I wanted to backup my storage drive (Drive letter E) offsite
automatically from my main computer which runs Windows 7. So I found out about
BackupPC and set it up according to this source:
