Hi Florian,
I have the same problem as you have
and already have put a message in here, too.
Unfortunately no one replied.
Maybe we can work together on this,
although in the next weeks, I probably won't have much time for it.
But in the long term I will surely try
to solve this issue. Maybe we
Hi everybody,
I think that you could obtain the behaviour
you like defining a pseudo autochanger and replacing the mtx command. Of
course there will be some scripting to do.
Best regards

Hi Ferdinando,
Great to have a response! ;-)
What do you mean exactly by replacing
the mtx command? Do you mean the mtx binary (you know, the mtx-1.2.17rel
from within the depkgs which you compile and install on your
system) or the mtx changer script which does the interfacing?
That's one of the
I mean, in the mtx-changer shell script
replace the call to mtx with the call to a custom script in which you can
test and do whatever you want.
Again this is only an idea, it shoul
be adapted to your tape and tested.
Best regards.
Ok, thanks! I'll give it a try!
By the way, would be great if somebody
else could contribute to this topic, too!
Kind Regards
Mit freundlichem Gruß

Ferdinando, Christoff,
I haven't notice the section in the Tips and suggestions
chapter that Christoff pointed out, but I think that Fernando's
suggestion to replace the mtx-changer script with a custom script is
a good idea. I am doing some tests as I write this and will get back

The wait time is configurable. Check the documentation, I have mine set
to 30 seconds. This ensures the job queue doesn't get blocked when our
pcs and laptops (~45 of them) back up every day.

I backed up /var because I don't have the sources directory mentioned in

Hello,
I reviewed current bacula .spec file and see that build without

BTW why
I've written an application called Bacuview that provides a

I should correct myself first: This is only about trailing space. I

any device associated with the changer; I found just one device (ID 5)

Hello,
Please note, beginning with version 1.39.5 (20 Feb 2006), you will need to do
a database upgrade. This applies only to users pulling from the current CVS.
The database upgrade is done following the normal procedures -- i.e.
./configure (options)
make
make install
cd
