Kern,
Many thanks for pointing to the Volume Poll Interval storage
option. Since I am on Linux 2.6 the Offline on Unmount (and the
assoc Close on Poll) didn't work (left the device blocked), but
keeping the device open and polling for a new tape did the trick.
Thanks,
Florian

Hi Ferdinando,
Great to have a response! ;-)

I mean, in the mtx-changer shell script
replace the call to mtx with the call to a custom script in which you can
test and do whatever you want.
Again this is only an idea, it shoul
be adapted to your tape and tested.
Best regards.
Ok, thanks! I'll give it a try!
By the way, would be great if somebody
else could contribute to this topic, too!
Kind Regards

Ferdinando, Christoff,
I haven't notice the section in the Tips and suggestions
chapter that Christoff pointed out, but I think that Fernando's
suggestion to replace the mtx-changer script with a custom script is
a good idea. I am doing some tests as I write this and will get back
after I got
