Yes, it *is* pretty old :-)
Pre-load the tape the restore wants, and it will probably work. If I remember

Thank you all for your answers! They'll definitely prove useful in the

Hello,
I user bacula 1.32f - yeah I know, that this is quite old, but it is
really working fine for long now.
Everythings was ok, backup is running every day, no errors, everything
is fine.
Now I wanted to restore a file. But I always get the same error:

Hi,
I've been using Bacula for a couple of years now to back up nearly 20
servers (a mix of Linux and Windows) onto a single server with great
success. I'm doing my backups onto a 640G Hard Disk array and then
transporting these off site on an external hard disk weekly.
Each server is being back
Just curious as to the cause of this and the possible fix (if its
truly broken):
When I run my backups (Linux and Windows 2003 Server and XP Pro) I get
the following Alert on all of the backups that talk to the tape drives
(3 different drives 2-DDS3 1-AIT):

Hi,
could someone please post a description of what each media
status is about? It would also be nice to have that in the
documentation.
Catalog page only tells us which status are available:
'Full', 'Archive', 'Append', 'Recycle', 'Purged',
'Read-Only', 'Disabled', 'Error', 'Busy', 'Used', 'Clea

Dear Kern,
Yes, I saw this a few times here as well and it disappeared as quickly as it
raise. Your approach (retry) may work. I'll have to try this...

Don't think that's it, since the other clients are in the same folder.

I have a backup tape that I think must have at least 1 full backup on it
-based on the number of bytes read by bscan and the progress messages
out of bscan.
At the end of the tape bscan sees something that disturbs it and it
terminates abnormally.
It does update the catalog with the right date

I can't believe that a sophisticated backup application as Bacula is
not able to recover the state of a file system branch at the time of a
cert

I am working on a similiar solution here. The problem is, that the
hotplug-agent doesnt mount the USB-Harddisc on a fixed mountpoint.
I tried to
