[Bacula-users] Backup to NFS mounted share: optimal settings?
Hey Yesterday we got a NAS-backup appliance with deduplication etc. to test, and it can export its shares as either CIFS or NFS. When writing to a CIFS share there were no errors, when writing to a default mounted NFS share however bacula was unable to restore from any volume due to block positioning errors. After reading up on block size stuff and NFS I tried writing and restoring from the same NFS share, but mounted with the *rsize=32768,wsize=32768* options. This worked like a charm! Now I'm wondering if I was just lucky, or if this should always work? Is there someone with experience with bacula and NFS shares that has a somewhat optimal setting for the NFS mount, and perhaps for the bacula storage config? What I'm wondering about most is if this will always work correctly with the default block size of 64,512 bacula uses... [Bacula-users] problem with job copy and retention period
Hi... I have this situation: A small SD in the server (2TB) with a retention period of 3 months. and a other SD in a disk USB (1TB) with a retention period of 1 month. Note: the idea is leave only the more recently backups (one month) in internal and external disk.. .and the oldest backup in the internal disk (we don't believe that we will need this old backups in the future). Re: [Bacula-users] problem with job copy and retention period
Victor, it seems your volumes are not configured to retain volumes for 3 months. Verify this executing list volumes and check retention. The retention period is not updated automaticaly to volumes created before configuration on pool resource. I have the configuration and works properly. If the retention period is incorrect you can update it runing update volume command from bconsole. Kleber 2011/9/14 Victor Hugo dos Santos listas@gmail.com Hi...
