The script would query dir whether the job is already ran (the job may be

return 1 and cancel the job.

I hoped that would be the case with Allow Duplicate Jobs = no in 3.0 (I'm
using it on FreeBSD), but it seems the directive doesn't change anything, at
 least in my case:

I have the same problem. :-(

How many concurrent clients do you allow to each SD, how many concurrent

Do you want to tell us a little bit more about the setup? Are the

Having a bright moment I thought: hmmm... why don't we install
some sort of proxy at the home offices? People could backup their
stuff to the proxy and the proxy syncs with the central server.
Time wouldn't be such a big issue (even if it takes a couple of
 days to sync).

Has anybody a solution for that problem?

Maybe you could use a local SD and then migrate your jobs?

Run = Full is not valid for restore AFAIK.

You could check my post from a while ago (my reply below contains a model):

I tried without Full and I also copy and pasted your example.
It didn't work. :(

Can I create a file based autochanger?

On the director resource you can use DirAddresses.

I've tried (both commercial and open source) have not been too happy with
this arrangement and end up requiring vast amounts of disk space and overhead
to index this kind of mail spool.

For a couple of years ago we had 6 maildir servers with ~600GB maildirs on
each. It was a nightmare to backup. Veritias has a product that made
backups on raw data even if it was monted. It was much faster that file
backup.

But my guess is that you will be happy with Bacula, depending what
hardware you have on the database server.

You can't.

i dont want to dump the mysql-dbs before the backup, because this would
take days...

Make a MysQL slave server and do a fulldump each month (or week) and then
backup all binlogs every day.

[Bacula-users] SSH tunnel

2005-07-08 Thread Jonas Björklund

Hello,

I have created a SSH tunnel to one of my client. And it works fine with
the following command:

ssh -fN -l root -L 19102:localhost:9102 -R 9103:localhost:9103 myclient

But now I would like to run it from the RunBeforeJob command.
Bacula starts the tunnel. But it seems that Bacula just waiting for the
command to exit. When I kill the tunnel Bacula continues but fail since
the tunnel is down.

Any ideas to get Bacula not wait wait until RunBeforeJob is finnished?

It depends your software on your clients.
Bacula will backup everything in the file sets.
If your software on the clients have things in their memory that they
haven't written to disk Bacula will not be able to store that data.
