Re: [Bacula-users] bacula performance

2019-06-03 Thread ce
I always check manager/perfmonance, and when it is in the middle of bacula
job, I noticed bacula-fd.exe process is missing from windows Resource
Monitor > Network and Disk , and bacual-fd.exe cpu usgae 0 but Memory usage
49,744 K .
any thought?

[Bacula-users] bacula performance

2019-06-03 Thread ce
Does any one else have issue with bacula speed with bacula 9.4.2.
is that normal that bacula speed is too low when encryption is enabled for
windows client and Windows Network IO is around xx kb/s or less with 1 Gbps
bandwidth ???
No cpu and memory issue on the client/server sides though.

P.S.
running multiple jobs for the same client at the same time makes it
worse...!!!

Re: [Bacula-users] Multiple bacula jobs at the same time

2019-05-17 Thread ce
thank you Dimitri for your response.
the network has the bandwidth, but not sure why the bacula job is so slow
after changing Encryption algorithm.

[ ID] Interval Transfer Bandwidth Retr
[ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 991 MBytes 832 Mbits/sec 1245
sender

for an Incremental backup as follows you can see how slow it is:

Elapsed timeLevelBytesFilesSpeed

 14:57:35 Incremental 9.22 MB 67 179.49 B/s 0.38 IncrementalPool

I had encryption enabled before on older version of bacula on older server
which also showed similar Speed but did not take too long for such a small
change.
but with a new version of bacual and with different encryption it is so
slow.
I am not sure which part is really causing this issue, any idea? do I need
to assign more resource (CPU/RAM) to bacula server/client server? or any
changes to the disk type?
although I do not see any high usage of CPU or RAM when it is running the
slow jobs either on the client or the server, can this be related to the
encryption process? where does the encryption happen? what can I do to
speed it up?

[Bacula-users] Multiple bacula jobs at the same time

2019-05-16 Thread ce
Hi,

How can I setup bacula to run multiple bacula jobs at the same time for the
same windows client?
should I just set Maximum Concurrent Jobs to more than one, can I set 3 or
4 concurrent bacula jobs for a windows client? is that possible?

I have different storage for the backup of each folder so they do not share
the same location for backup volumes storage.

thanks for your help in advance.

Re: [Bacula-users] question about bacula job speed

2019-05-14 Thread ce
for the bacula backups on the old bacula server ( for backups of a windows
client ), I never noticed that long bacula jobs for incremental and
differential ones.

on the new bacula server for the backups of one of the folder:

Elapsed timeLevelBytesFilesSpeed

13:45:29 Differential 2.17 MB 42 45.92 B/s 0.35

on the new bacula server for the backups of another folder on the same
client:
Elapsed timeLevelBytesFilesSpeed

03:00:03 Differential 932.23 MB 1.648 88.36 KB/s

how can I find out why there is such a difference? the second folder backup
has even more files for backup as you see above but it took less.
NOTE:

for the first folder: 22 G out of 500 G free space
for the second folder 400 G out of 700 free space?
not sure if having more free space for the client folders, will affect the
speed of backup?

any help will be appreciated!

[Bacula-users] question about bacula job speed

2019-05-13 Thread ce
Hi everyone,
Is that normal that incremental bacula job ( just to backup a few
megabytes) takes 9 or 10 hours? assuming there is no performance or any
issue on the servers and clients, only encryption algorithm has changed
recently!
