There's no way Shoghi Effendi would allow his birthday to be celebrated if
'Abdu'l-Baha didn't allow His to be celebrated.

Dear Hasan,
While I would agree that the reasons given by the Shoghi Effendi for
not celebrating his birthday did not really hold, he felt so strongly
about this that I doubt if anyone will consider changing that now.
