Just a few thoughts on making BASE2 easier to administrate:
1. It's all too easy to delete items as an administrator and then find that
you need to log in/impersonate the original owner to actually empty the
trash (they don't go into the admin user's trash). One convenient solution

We are working on a backup scheme here in Lund. We'll send a note when
we have something that at least works. Then we can all improve our
backup strategy ;-)
Why use svn? Do you need to track changes to files? For the userfiles
directory a simple rsync should be fine, it is incremental
We are also currently setting up a backup system for the main server
here in Lund. I am not really taking part of the practical work. My
responsibility is more to think out scenarios that would break the
backup system.

Tracking changes will in any case not be possible. Changing an uploaded
file in BASE results in a new file with a new name. It will most likely
also be located in a different directory since the subdirectories in the

No we can't since it doesn't work with InnoDB tables.
Ah true. I guess a replica is the best way to go in that case.
I've never
