If you 'maximize' the new Find Diffs window (Option-green window button),
then go full-screen (option green), when you exit full screen, the window
titlebar of the Find Diffs window will remain underneath the system
Menubar, so it can no longer be moved.
Found a workaround: Minimize the Find
Well it seems the problem has gone away with no explanation after I
migrated to a new mac (and latest version of Mavericks).
