Hi all,
Just want to survey how many have BB deployed along with iPhone/Android/WinMo7.
If using activesync, who is using ISA to publish.
Anyone using Good?

Yes, but we don’t guarantee anything beyond BlackBerry will work.
Android doesn’t work, it doesn’t support EAS security fully. We recommend the
software TouchDown.
iPhones work.
WinMo works unless it’s an older phone that doesn’t use comodo certs.

We almost canned everything but BlackBerry based on the fact that only
BlackBerry allows you to restrict application installs, including spying
software that can be installed within seconds if someone snatches your device
and hits a web page.

That's interesting.
I was at WES last week and 3/4 besadmin had an iPhone. Mainly to support exec
and VIP customers.
We are evaluating iPhone now and planning to verify iPhone 4.0 for the
enterprise. Right now, management of iPhone would be via EMC/EMS.
We are also looking at Good, but not sure
We are looking at iPhone also, but concerned about security and the extra
manpower to support. Mainly our marketing, e-commerce types think they have to
have the iPhone… I have one now that I am trying for 30 days… I hate typing on
it… so freaking so.

Iphone and Exchange Activesync on the device can be breached in a few minutes.
Jail breaking renders anything security wise on the device useless.

The only flaw that is holding us back from deploying ‘test iPhones’ is the
(well documented) fact that if a phone is lost/stolen, we cant remote wipe if
the iPhone has been taken off the grid (SIM chip pulled). Once Apple gets this

We only support BBs. People can order anything, but we only help if
they order a BB. My work phone is a Curve. Personally, I am hanging
onto a Centro until Sprint introduces the 4G android in June. I won't
support Android for employees, but that's what I want for myself.

Hmm, is there a similar function in EAS like IT Policy? I’d love to be able to
use Exchange ActiveSync to manage the iPhones. Just need to ensure that I can
wipe an iPhone.
Thanks!

Yeah, I read that as well. I'd be worried about people bricking their iPhones
from bad jailbreak attempts or downloading bad apps from Cydia.
Thanks!

Actually, Trust Digital has BES-like functionality for iPhone/WinMo,
etc. It is on my list of things to test. They at least gave quite an
interesting presentation :-) But I can't vouch as to whether it works as
presented.

It does appear that Good answers most of my questions, though.

Well, to be fair, you can't remote wipe ANY phone that is not accepting wireless traffic.

But, with BES you can set the policies so that if the device does not talk
to the server periodically then it wipes itself. So, off the grid = dead to
me.
Now, we aren't doing that yet, but may be soon.
