that does not explain the date and time the message was sent.
Any ideas why this 'ghost' message could have been sent to a user
without a blackberry?

I agree with Diane. That should work. It's a different type of wipe that will
bring the phone back to factory defaults (different than wipe handheld). You
will have to reactivate (re-provision) the phone when complete.

I rebooted the BES, and we SEEM to be functioning ok for the moment.

Curves and 8350i Nextel
Curves on the system. My carrier is Sprint. The devices experiencing the
issue are 8330 curves, all of which are updated to the newest OS.
