It may be that you've got the same bug I seem to have which is that
SlimServer wants to display the artist name AND composer name - except
in my case the SlimServer web page lists the artist/composer over and
over and over, for example:

That indicates a problem that the server is trying to start up and
create its perl58.dll file in the temp folder and can't find it.
Is the disk full? Is there a copy of that file (or a similar named
one) in your tmp folder? Try deleting that and see if it can start
then.

I did a manual re-scan tonight, clearing the existing library first and
that completed fine.
I then set a re-scan using the plugin and that completed without
crashing too, not sure if that sheds any light, but it appears to be
working at the moment.

Hello,
I'm just wondering why AlienBBC is not included in SlimServer 6.2.
Is it because:
1) It's mainly for a minority market (UK)
2) Due to MPlayer (or related) license restrictions
...or something completely different.
Thanks for any enlightenment.

can crash SlimServer by saving a now playing playlist as "Untitled" and

I can't see a bug for it for v6.2 so I've created a new one:

I always install over the existing installation. You could do the
uninstall after having backed up the configuration file, though.

I got that message installing the 10/17 nightly.

My conclusion from this is that if Swedish Characters (probably the
same with other non-english Unicode characters) are used on Linux then
slimserver 6.2beta and a recent Perl version (5.8.6 or 5.8.7?) are
necessary.
That is correct.
