That indicates a problem that the server is trying to start up and create its perl58.dll file in the temp folder and can't find it. Is the disk full? Is there a copy of that file (or a similar named one) in your tmp folder? Try deleting that and see if it can start then. On Oct 18, 2005

It's not just happening with Macs, I'm also seeing similar CPU usage with 6.2 on my Fedora Core 4 box (Celeron 2.4 Ghz, 1 GB RAM, Perl 5.8.6). I first saw this on the 10-14 nightly (6.2b1-4615). It would run fine until I connected to the web interface. Just poking around a bit causes slimserver CP

When I install a new version of slimserver, they get wiped out. I should add that I'm uninstalling the old version first. I take it I should not do that? I always install over the existing installation. You could do the uninstall after having backed up the configuration file, though. --
