Hi,
I'm not too sure if it's worth me bothering to report this sort of
stuff so early in 6.5's development (although the software seems
surprisingly bug-free and stable to me). So, someone tell me to shut up
if this is the case.

I'm assuming this is a 6.5 vagary but it might be the same for all
versions of SlimServer.
On my Windows machine I place all my MP3s (in their respective album
folders) in a directory called _MP3 to keep them separate form the
majority of my music, which is in Flac format.
I used the underscore

Hi KDF.
I quite understand. I am just very grateful to you for making the great
skin in the first place and for MeSue for making the Tan adaptation.
It's a shame the maintenance of a skin is such a painful thing.
However, ss I mainly use the remote it's not so much of a problem to me
ok, I'll give it a go with those options. Strange I can't re-direct
output to a logfile using somepath\somefile.log

I've logged a bug. If you have Group Compilation Albums together
enabled in server Options-Behaviour, then Browse Artist Browse Genre
will only allow you to play song from Various Artists using the player
remote.
All songs will play from the web UI.
See
I see that when doing it from the command line, too, and it works
Is there something before that in the logs?

see is the top line of pixels of this text (even in full screen mode
nothing changes).
I think I've seen similar problem simply when the browser window isn't
large enough.
The scanner was working for me, but broke on the 17 June nightly. It
doesn't do anything when initiated from the web UI (starts and then
dies), and from the command line I get this:-
2006-06-17 15:19:27.5000 scanPathOrURL: Finding valid files in:
x:\Music
2006-06-17 15:19:27.5415 About to look
Hi all,
since two days I cannot scan anymore. I use Slimserver on a Buffalo
Linkstation (Debian) with the nightly *.deb package
When starting the scanner from the commandline I get an:
# slimserver-scanner --rescan --progress /home/musik
DBIx::Class::Storage::DBI::dbh(): DBI Connection failed:
My browser window is full screen, and even setting text at the smallest
size, I can only just see that line. Trouble is, I can't read anything
else then!

I'm a couple days behind you on updates, but at present scanning is
broken on debian. See bug 3560.
Try this:
su -s /bin/sh slimserver /usr/sbin/slimserver-scanner --prefsfile
/etc/slimserver/slimserver.pref /path/to/music
Maybe add a --wipe there if you have an empty library anyway.
That

ah, nm, i see you're invoking slimserver-scanner manually. Try with the
--prefsfile, though: my scans always broke if I left that off.

No normally I let slimserver invoke the scanner, but it didnĀ“t work...
With your command line it at least starts to scan

They are VERY concerned. Trouble is, user perception varies. I do
think the Default skin was a huge improvement

I've had to face the fact that css is incapable of following it's own

Thanks for logging the bug. Unsetting Group Compilation Albums
together allows Browse Artist Browse Genre to work again.
