after getting the error, go to Preferences -> Security & Privacy and see if
Bibdesk is show there awaiting approval.
If you have admin privileges go to a terminal and type
sudo spctl −−master−disable
which Apple considers a security risk.
Then try again.

I use acl anthology for importing papers into bibdesk. The Url field in the
BibText in acl anthology does not contain .pdf extension.

See if you can right-click (control-click) on BibDesk and choose "Open" from
