Our resident grebes are back as of Today for sure. I heard and then
saw the male at sunrise on Monday morning and the pair this morning.
The water levels are slightly higher than last year at this time

I have been having e-mail issues so I hope this works. Just letting
everyone know that American Woodcock have been sighted at the Leslie Street
Spit Sunday March 15th and
Tuesday March 17th. The spit is located at just south of Lakeshore Road
Leslie Street in Toronto.

To add to the York region report posted yesterday, Kevin Shackleton observed a
white adult Snow Goose on the south side of Hochreiter Road late yesterday
afternoon.
Hochreiter Rd. runs west from Bathurst St. just northwest of Holland Landing
(just past where the GGOW was a few weeks ago).

interested in volunteering for an upcoming pilot Grassland Bird Survey in
the spring of 2009. This survey is a joint effort between Wildlife
Preservation Canada, Bird Studies Canada and the Canadian Wildlife Service.

Hello all,
My husband and I were in Blenheim, Erieau area yesterday afternoon (March
17th). Around 6 pm, we saw lots of black birds on our way to McGeachy Pond -
Grackles, Red-winged Blackbirds, Starlings and 4 Killdeer. In the pond we
observed a pair of Mute Swan, a small flock of Canada

Ken did a really quick trip down to the Long Point area today. He stopped at
Townsend Sewage Lagoons on his way home and found a white phase Ross's Goose
with some Canada's in the lagoon. After watching this bird for a bit the flock
got up and took flight to
Today, Terrie Smith and I observed a pair of Pine Siskins in Thickson's Woods
(southeast side near the cattail marsh). One of the pair was observed
collecting a huge mouthful of cattail down and carrying it off into the
woods. We couldn't determine the path as the birds flew high and fast,
