Just returned from seeing the Spotted Sandpiper at Lakeside Park. The bird
was present in the corner near the Pier behind the fence area at the east
side of the park. It disappeared into the corner shortly after I saw it and
did not emerge but I am sure it would come out at some point. You

The 57th / 112th Annual CBC for Sault Ste. Marie Ontario/Michigan was
conducted on Dec 17/2011
Count Day started off clear and cold at about -16C at 4:30am in the
morning but warmed up to -4C at around 5:30pm.
Overall results were above average as was volunteer participation (70).
I sat for 10 minutes with a group of photographers at 12:30 PM today on Carling
Avenue looking at what I thnk was a Kriders. It was vey light especially
around the head where the whitish throat went all the way up side of the face.

This morning the mostly white snowy owl that has been seen regularly
in the fields of the Holland Marsh (NE quadrant of intersection Hwys
4009) was back to where it was hunting when first located, near the
corner of Jane and Edward.

This afternoon I found a Red-bellied Woodpecker at Claireville
Conservation Area near Brampton. This bird has been present
intermittently for about a month; I first saw it on November 15. This
afternoon it was at the
Birders visiting Presqu'ile Provincial Park in winter can expect to find
over 30 species of birds on a good day. Yet that is only a fraction of
what is actually present, for 58 species have been seen in the Park in
the past week, an indication of what can be found when a number of
birders

Today at 8:40 I had only a glimpse of the black -throated gray but at
9:10 for several minutes had great looks. The bird was staying about eight
feet
above the ground in some smaller sized trees. I saw the bird just before and
a little past the

Hi all! - especiallly 'winter listers' - this afternoon I headed up to Hullett
W.A. after spending close to $200 to sort out a missing cylinder at HMP in
Exeter. It was a good decision as I found 1 white morph Snow Goose with ~90
Canada on the main pond of the Wildfowl Sanctuary Area and a
