I haven’t seen a report on Ontbirds – Bird Alert lately so I thought I’d
update. Yesterday all six species of warbler (Wilson’s, Parula, Tennessee,
Orange-crowned, Nashville and Yellow-rumped) were showing nicely. Also present
were several Winter Wrens, 2 Ruby-crowned Kinglets and a Hermit
04.12.14 - 8am - 4 Snow Geese [2 white 2 blue] + 3 Ross's Geese continue to
show - Cackling Geese were also present among the mob of Canada Geese and 1m
Mallards and scores of Black Ducks : also seen - 4 male Pintail Ducks - 2
Swedish Blue Ducks - 1 white domestic Mallard - 2 male Common
At Sedgewick this morning, all 6 warbler species reported by Geoff and
others lately were all present: Tennessee, Orange-crowned,
Yellow-rumped, Wilson's, Parula and Nashville Warblers; plus 2 Winter
Wrens, a Carolina Wren, 1 Ruby-Crowned Kinglet with a several
Golden-crowneds and 1 Hermit Thrush,
David Szmyr and I just found an adult male Oregon Dark-eyed Junco. It is with
a flock of Slate-colored Juncos and American Tree Sparrows at the very south
end of the point in some shrubs/Phragmites, 100 m south-southwest from the foot
of Kraft Road in Fort Erie, ON. Nice looking bird!

Hi Ontbirders,
On a quick lunch break today, I headed to Minet's Point Park in Barrie to,
once again, follow-up on Dave Szmyr's report of a Ross's Goose (2nd bird in
2 days), among other waterfowl.
The adult, white Ross's Goose, was found where Dave reported it, to the
west of the park in a
Kingston Field Naturalists (KFN) maintains records in a 50km radius of
MacDonald Park, Kingston. Birders already using eBird are encouraged to
share their sightings with 'Kingston FN'. Alternatively, please email, phone
or post records directly to me - contact details below. Note: some sightings
We spotted what we think was a migrating golden eagle sitting on a fence
post in Innisfil on 20th sideroad near 6th line. We have a few photos
including one showing the feathers under its wing if anyone would like to
confirm.

I woke up this morning a little ‘under the weather’, sothought a day of birding
may help. So Iain Rayner and I headed to Prince EdwardCounty and spent much of
the day birding western shorelines in the county. We managed to find some late
migrantsincluding some Tundra Swans at Wellington
