There is a Western Meadowlark (confirmed) on Pit Road just outside of Bethany.
There are 2 fields on the west side near #64 Pit Rd. He rotates between the 2
fields.
Highway 115/35 to Highway 35 to Highway 7A East towards Bethany. Turn right
(south) on Pit Road to #64. I do not know the
Bird is in field across from 64 Pit road now. May be same bird we had here two
yrs ago. This bird is also singing both eastern and western songs as the bird
in 2013 did. Pit rd and 7a east of 35. Down to #64. Near Bethany as described
by Kim Clark.

A calling Virginia Rail was heard in the marsh edge directly opposite the
Sanctuary site sign at 1:00pm.

one WILSON'S PLOVER. on the beach, west side of Toronto Island and west of
island airport. Ferries run every half hour from foot of Bay St. . Hugh

As can be expected, the Whimbrels look pretty much through. This morning we
had 9 at 7:40 and a further 5 at noon. Of that small flock 3 returned and after
much circling managed to land for a rest right at the tip of Whimbrel Point
down on the rocks.
Birders
Just a reminder the Piping Plovers at Hanlan's Point are endangered
under both provincial and federal species-at-risk legislation. The
Wilson's and Snowy Plover are vagrants. If you are pursuing these
significant sightings be extra cautious about interfering with the
Piping
Wilson's plover is still present and showing well. Trying to refind Snowy
Plover (last see around 6:30pm).
