The bird was not heard near the visitor Centre this evening. A few distant
whips were heard. Driving roads slowly and listening at dusk or dawn may
produce the bird.

Pelee. We are a bit closer to Sparrow Field than we are to Woodland Trail.

the 1st year male Summer Tanager was still showing well on the east beech
at or near the drop off loop at the tip.

Although birding has slowed down on this windy, warm afternoon, there are
still lots of birds around to see. At least 29 species of warbler have been
found in the park today.
A Prairie Warbler was singing on Harrison Trail about 100 m South of the

We just had excellent views of a female at 1340 h. Chinquapin Trail, E side
just S of "Cactus field" on the map I am using (Point Pelee site guide with
yellow rumped on cover).

Good morning birders.
It is indeed a good morning -- a great morning! There is extensive passerine
movement at seemingly all locations in the Park.
The best bird of the day has been an immature MISSISSIPPI KITE seen by many
observers over Sparrow Field. It was last seen heading West towards
Ontbirds subscribers,
The overnight and pre-dawn showers resulted in a pretty good fallout of
warblers at Thickson's Woods this morning.
Highlights have been a singing Worm-eating Warbler in the northwest section of
the woods, a singing Louisiana Waterthrush that started out at the south end

A Golden-winged Warbler was heard and seen at Erie Beach/Waverly Beach this
morning. Ten other species of warblers also present.

Good morning birders,
What a great morning to be out at Rondeau! We've had a large number of
migrants drop in overnight, with good numbers of birds around the park.
There have a couple of sightings of Mississippi Kite flying by today, at
the visitor centre going north and at South Point Trail
Pelicans off tip area flying towards Pelee island.

I just found a young male Summer Tanager - it is flycatching from a tree along
the east side of the tip at Point Pelee, about 100-200 m north of the actual
tip (near where a seasonal trail comes out to the beach).
