The Bird(s) are still present. As of 6:56 there are two birds singing. One in
the same spot as reported earlier south of Old Barrie Rd and a second on the
north side Old Barrie on 8th Line. The second north bird is singing very close
to the roadside giving great views on the west side of 8th.
There is a male Cinnamon Teal at the Rainy River Sewage Lagoon. It was with 2
Blue-winged and a Green-winged Teal. Photos were taken.

Nancy and I just found a singing Dickcissel on a fence row east of Oro-Medonte Line 8 about 100 metres south of Old Barrie Rd. Might be a first record for Simcoe County.Directions: take Hwy 11 north from Barrie. Exit at Oro-medonte Line 7 or 9 drive north (away from Lake
This morning at 1000 am I observed a small flock of 6-8 red crossbills feeding
high in conifer pines on a trail in the northeast corner of the North Tract in
the York Regional Forest. After 20 minutes the flock moved on in a westward
direction.
North Tract is immediately south of
2 Dickcissels still singing up a storm at previously reported location on
Winter Drive
Also in attendance: Boblinks, Grasshopper & Savannah Spares and watch the sky
for resident Bald Eagles
Birds were in small swale past the pile of dark dirt. See previous posts for
