On Sunday at 1100h we saw about 25 Sandhill Cranes flying in a south-east arc
over the Dundas Valley Conservation Area. We were at the west side of the DVCA
on Martin's Road. Their presence was preceded by their bugling (?) It was
quite the sight through the fog.

If you stand at the culverts just south of Green Mountain (not the ones
closer to Mud St.) and face East you
I have seen no updates today so just to confirm the bird reported the last
2 days is still present. 10th and Mud in Vinemount (up the escarpment in
Hamilton) detail directions in previous posts.
Currently well back in field.

I think it can perhaps bring back childhood memories for some folks. Having
maybe seen this species in the HSA while in diapers at a both young and old
age! Yaya!

Hello Ontbirders,
I arrived at the pathway on Gowling Terrace at 7:30am today and didn't
immediately see any birds at the seed. I waited for about 15 minutes before
moving to the fenceline at Kearns and the pond, watching the other pile of seed

The bird was seen again by Barb Charlton and David Pryor along the hedgerow
east of 10th Road east. Look low in the shrubs. This bird is feeding on
the ground in the wind and cold. Sometimes it is perched up higher but most
times its been down out of the wind.
Kudos to Bryan Wylie who first brou
