These birds were not seen at 5:00 pm, but a number of local cottagers told
me that the best time to see them is first thing in the morning. That is
the time of day that they have been seen for several days in a row.

The White-faced Ibis found by Chris Ellingwood in Cameron (north of Lindsay)
yesterday, was present in the same wet field on the north side of Long Beach
Rd. when I arrived at 17:45, but flew toward Sturgeon Lake at 17:50. I
could not relocate it in the immediate vicinity along the shore of the

Nice weather and more birders meant more birds were found today. The
Yellow-breasted Chat is still at the 1st bench on South Point Trail.
White-winged Dove now offering nesting materials to its chimney
reflection(17168 Lakeshore Rd). White-eyed Vireos seen at different
locations. A Hooded Warbler
We just had an adult light morph Swainson's Hawk fly over, not too high up,
heading E-W right along shore. Bird was in a mixed group of Red-tails and
Broad-wings and Vultures.
Location is immediately adjacent to Wheatley PP (east side).
Pelee VC would be a good spot to check in 20 minutes.

It was nice to finally see the sun today at Point Pelee. With the warmth
insects started to rise from the sand at the Tip attracting large numbers of
swallows and the recurring SCARLET TANAGER. There was also at least 5
RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS in the Tip area.

The Snowy Egret found yesterday morning by Ken MacDonald in the Matchadash Bay
Area of Simcoe County is still present as of this writing.
It is currently perched on a snag in the heronry about 250-300 m to the West. A
scope is necessary for satisfactory views.
