For those birders who are not on Discord the following Geese were seen at the
Nolan Quarry on Nolan Road in the south east area of Ottawa this morning.
Bean Goose
Barnacle Goose
Ross’s Goose
Snow Goose
Cackling Goose
Canada Goose.
The are also Greater White fronted Goose (2) on Milton Road.
We have just heard of a Fulmar having been seen and photographed on the Ottawa
River today near Britannia Point. The bird was seen at dark. The point at the
Britannia Filtration Plant is probably the best viewing point. This alert has
also been posted to Discord, the recent new alert

I have attached a message from Jacques Bouvier to the Ottawa RBA with regard to
the PFGO. There is no certainty that this is “our” bird but I just wanted
anyone travelling to be aware of all the issues. Hopefully the local bird will
be seen again this weekend and we will certainly post ASAP if
Jean Iron phoned me to advise that the Goose was not seen from early this
morning to 2.45pm despite many birders looking.
However : they were approached by a group of hunters who stated they were there

This bird was found by Vincent Fyson this morning and was present on Frank
Kenny Rd (also known as Cox Country Rd. ) until about 3.45 pm. The bird was in
the flooded area east of the road at the bridge over the creek and remained
there the total time. After 3.45pm the bird could not be
The female Gyrfalcon just chased a Mallard across the river at Britannia Point.
The bird was unsuccessful but is undoubtedly still in the area.

This evening I saw 2 Arctic Terns hawking insects over the Ottawa River from
Britannia Point. A Black Tern was also present. A Red necked Phalarope was also
in a wet area of a field off Brophy Rd east of Moodie Dr which is south west of
