Greetings all,
While camping in perfect summery weather this past Saturday night/early
Sunday morning July 10th at Pinery Provincial Park (Riverside
campground, Area 2, site 563), an EASTERN SCREECH OWL was heard calling
(from within 30 m of the campsite) intermittently between 12:00 a.m. and
I apologize for not submitting until now, yesterday disappeared on me.
2 adult Sandhill Cranes with 1 young chick were observed Tuesday July 6
at 9:10 a.m. feeding in a mowed field (I think hay) despite the heat of
the day, approximately 75 m from the road (Regional Road 17).

Hoping to spur an increase in the amount of postings for this area of
Ontario!
Sorry for the lateness; went to Snyder's (Snider's?) Flats early
Saturday evening, parked by the gate and took the trail as far as it
would take me, around the ponds close to the Grand River.
There is an OSPREY
A Peregrine Falcon was observed flying briefly today at approximately
11:30am before it perched on the roof of the white apartment building at
the northwest corner of Queen and Ahrens Street West. It stayed perched
there for approximately 20 minutes at the top of what I think is the
radio antenna.
