Deryl Nethercott messaged me just now to say that the American White Pelicans
are back on Lake Chipican in Canatara Park, Sarnia.
Last Sunday/Monday (16/17 June), 2 pelicans were in L. Chipican and flew around
0915 Monday. 2 pelicans were then spotted 1 hour later in Kettle Point, ON,
just up
I arrived just after 7 thus morning and spent 3 hours on the dikes,
including the east-west dike to view the north ponds and did not relocate
the pelicans. Great morning to view the Black terns, nesting Snapping
turtles and Trumpeter swan cygnets...
The birds are not at the creek where they have been seen over the past week.
A quick drive around nearby fields and I have not seen them there either.
