Hello birders.
Tundra Swans were seen on the Grand River in Glen Morris at the high level
bridge on Sat. Feb. 12. Park (carefully) near the gas station end and walk
along the bridge's sidewalk; the traffic can be dangerous there. Buffleheads,
Common Goldeneye and Common Mergansers were also
Kittiwake cooperative on west side of Cobourg harbour this morning, Monday
Feb.14, but Mew Gull not yet relocated, though several birders searching
among the hundreds of Ring-billeds.
Lots of white-winged gulls of all ages - even more than yesterday, though
total number of gulls about half so far.

For those out of town people, as of 5:00pm, yesterday's Mew Gull found by Doug
McRae was not seen again today. However, the BLKittiwake was reliable and
easily photographed all day. There were many white-winged gulls, especially
before noon; Iceland and Glaucous of all ages, and at least 1 adult
The Northern Hawk Owl that was found during our Carden Alvar CBC on January 2,
2011 has been hunting in the wetland near the junction of Road 46 from Simcoe
and Road 6 from City Of Kawartha Lakes. Several birders have reported this bird
this winter during the month of January and into February.
