At 2 this afternoon stopped by Reesor Pond, Stan Long was there as well. The
pond is high and not attracting much in the way of shorebirds. Of interest:

Whitby harbour
Departed alone from the creek on east side of the Brock Rd bridge, flying
west.
Did not appear to travel far, coming down on the west side of the harbour.
Exit Hwy 401 at exit 410, take Brock St. south to the bridge.

at 3pm.

There haven't been many longspurs in Durham County this winter so I thought
I would post this. Charmaine Anderson found these birds yesterday afternoon.
Relocated them myself yesterday as the sun went down, returned this morning
with my scope to confirm. Bruce Aitkins stopped by for a look as
At about 11 AM today Tim Logan and I bumped into an Arctic Tern at Cobourg
harbour on the east breakwater perched near a Common Tern. Flew west.
We located it again from the beach immediately west of the harbour, it was
fishing close to shore. Flew east.
Located it again at noon.with several
Smith's Longspur continues at Concession A just west of Norfolk 59, as of
7:35 - 9:00 AM this morning.

Holder is currently watching a Brown Pelican at the marina in Newcastle
Harbour, also known as Bond Head, in Durham.
To get to the harbour exit 401 (east of Bowmanville) on Mill St and proceed
south to the parking lot right
Take Courtice Rd exit off 401, proceed south on Courtice Rd for 100m, turn
left on Megawatt Dr for 1km, turn right on Crago Rd for a few 100m, soccer
fields on left
