Nancy and I discovered a Western Kingbird today about 1:30 PM. It was on Blue 3 Rd. around house number 529. Bird was seen on the overhead wires (south side) and along the fence (north side). Photos were taken. Bird moved gradually west and got flushed by a car, haven't been

Today at around 2pm my wife and I had an American Bittern at Big Creek
Marsh at the bridge along county road #20. This area is between Malden Ctr
& Amherstburg. Bird was seen on the south side using my bins.

Yesterday, July 5 Ben and I birded the Napanee Alvar and observed 6 Loggerhead
Shrikes, 3 fledged young, 2 adults and one unknown. The birds were in the
general area of CR 27 and Nugent Road. The young shrikes were still begging for

I went out to check on the wetlands late yesterday afternoon and there’s good
news and bad news.
The GOOD news is that the water level in the main shorebird cell behind the
parking area is nearly perfect and there are a good number of shorebirds that
have arrived over the past week.
