Once again I left HBMO at 1:pm with nary a BW to be seen. Went to
Amerstburg for cheap gas and BW'S were coming down from the north and
crossing the Detroit River. Only 20 km n/w, we just can't catch a break
with the winds. The 1700 I saw Tuesday in Kingsville went north and weren't

I have had a few questions about my post. For those who aren't familiar
with this area HBMO stands for Holiday Beach Migration Observatory. It's on
the north shore of Lake Erie between Harrow and Amherstburg Ontario. I know
it's not a rare bird report but at this time of year they are an eccepted

A bad combination of birds on peninsula B. Both birds are quite approachable,
and even though the peregrine was flying about, the BBS stayed in the
vegetation at the north-western tip. I was disappointed that nobody mentioned
that the floating bridge was out. That's a lot of extra walking. D

The bird of the week was a WHITE-FACED/GLOSSY IBIS, first seen at Andrew
Haydon on the 14th, then at Shirley’s Bay from the 1
Exceptionally warm and pleasant weather at Presqu'ile Provincial Park
has slowed the bird migration but has provided many birders the
opportunity to enjoy studying birds at their leisure, especially on Gull
Island.
