The 3rd Dunnville (ONDU) CBC was held on Sunday December 30th 2018. The new
Dunnville CBC circle was shifted and restarted in 2016 (it ran previously from
1998-2000). The information included below is based on the new circle only. The
circle has a wide diversity of habitats including the Grand
Some days with cold temperatures, even colder wind chill temperatures and
occasional heavy snow squalls combined to dramatically reduce birding activity
and reports this week. The limited information that did come in suggested
little change.

We held our 65th Christmas Bird Count for Pickering on Saturday
December 29, 2018. The count was sponsored by Pickering Naturalists.
A total of 74 species were tallied, well above our 10-year average of

It was a painfully quiet week at Presqu’ile as the cold sets in.
Apart from the typical winter ducks, very few species are lingering. Two
REDHEAD were seen on 12 Jan, a WHITE-WINGED

This afternoon I found a Purple Sandpiper and a Dunlin, both of which were at
the base of the pier that sticks out into Lake Erie, at Erieau in the
municipality of Chatham-Kent.
