As far as I can tell, Bitcoin Cash blocks won't be accepted by bitcoinj – regardless if validating or not – because Bitcoin Cash changes the difficulty (in order to survive with much less hashing power than Bitcoin has). This will fail the PoW-check. Regarding pending transactions I'm not so sure

As you may know, Bitcoin Cash is going to release(split?) on August 1st. They seem to have added a fork id, similar to segwit (if I understand correctly). I am assuming that bitcoinj will not be supporting their network, but I wanted to check that there is no chance that a Bitcoin Cash
