However if the problem is a race condition, then that wouldn't be determinative. -- Bruce After further investigation, I've narrowed down the issue. It seems that the conftest (checking for stack setup via sigaltstack) hangs when executing from a gnome-terminal (pts/0). From a console (tty2), it works fine, (even though Gnome is still running in the background). Anyone have any ideas on why this would be the case. Hi, I have a strange issue. After successfully building LFS 7.5 + Gnome 3.12. I've been running on the new build for about a week now with no issues. I've now come across an issue where I cannot build Pth-2.0.7. It hangs during configure, just after 'checking for stack setup via sigaltstack...' I can see a process conftest running at 100% which was compiled and executed by the configure script. Has anyone come across this issue? The strange thing is that it was built successfully once during the initial build.
